- What had happened “past tense” to Babylon that the Angel was reporting?
- What do you think the text means by unclean and evil spirits?
- What caused this to happen? What did the kings of the earth and the merchants do?
Verses 4
- What warning is another angel giving to God’s people?
- Why should God’s people “come out of her?”
- Have you heard that warning?
Verses 5-8
- What has Babylon done that she deserves ruin?
- What measure of punishment will be served on her?
- What traits of Babylon are selected as measures for her punishment?
- Who is judging her and how quickly will the judgement pass?
- What does this say about the nature of God?
Verses 9-20
- Why do the kings of the earth mourn her loss?
- Why do the merchants mourn?
- Will God’s people mourn? Why not?
- What kinds of items are listed as merchandies that are no longer purchased?
- Why do you think they are no longer purchased by any man?
- Where are the merchants standing? Does this mean that they are not punished along with the City?
- Compare the behavior of the Merchants and earthly kings with what is commanded of God’s people?
